Why People Choose Revere (and why you should too)

March 23, 2020

If you could hop in a time machine and go back to 2011, you would see most of Revere’s founders sitting in an office together engaged in deep conversation.  The topic?  How incredibly opaque and confusing the mineral marketplace was.  “Landmen” harassed mineral rights owners, offering prices which had little basis in reality.  When an owner showed an interest in selling, the landman would then peddle the offer to different companies, hoping to quickly flip the minerals for a profit.  The victims?  Owners, who often saw offers fall through, or who missed out on the dollars that went to middlemen.

Unfortunately, even today mineral owners are still subject to sales pitches from unscrupulous salespeople.  But finally, there is a better way.

That “better way” exists because those guys in that office all those years ago eventually got together and founded a company.  That company is Revere.  It was organized around one simple question:

“How would we want our own grandmother to be treated if she wanted to sell her mineral rights?”

This deceptively simple question led to the creation of an organization which values 5 attributes above all others:

  • Honesty
  • Fair Offers
  • Transparency
  • Accuracy
  • Speed

Let’s take a quick look at how Revere defines these 5 attributes.

Honesty is easy for us to define.  We always tell the truth, even if it means we ultimately lose the deal.  If another company offers you more, we’re here to advise you, at no charge, on what to look out for.  It’s a pleasure to use our experience to help others.

Fair Offers: This attribute led us to create a proprietary technology which calculates thoughtful valuations which are then validated by experienced experts, thus inspiring comfort and confidence.

Transparency caused us to create RevereNet, a free website that rights owners can access 24/7/365.  With a unique ID number, individuals and families can use RevereNet to monitor in real-time what Revere believes their rights are worth.  After all, your bank sends you a statement every single month.  We think you should have the same ability to “check in” on your minerals.

Accuracy: If there is activity on your property, we’re usually the first ones to know, and our team works diligently to keep owners who are considering a sale up to date.  Owners who have relocated elsewhere in Texas or across the country particularly appreciate us for this.

Speed: We’re mineral owners ourselves, and we hate long, confusing contracts and even longer closing times.  We pay earnest money on every deal.  Our contract totals three pages.  And our title company is the fastest in the business.  The result?  In 2019 our average deal closed in 14 days.  That puts money in the pocket of our clients, fast.

In the end, our decision to live by these attributes made us successful.  That success allows us to give back to the counties and communities in which we operate.  So we’ve established a Giving Fund, which focuses on providing support to local organizations in towns like Cuero, Gonzales, Karnes City, Kenady, Shiner, Victoria, and many others.  There’s more information about it on our website.  In addition, in 2020 we’re kicking off our Revere Leadership Development Program, which is intended to help middle and high school students prepare for the challenges of higher education.

As we look back on that day years ago when we sat around that office, we’re proud of what we’ve built.  We think our grandmothers would be proud of us too.  In the end, we didn’t build a big corporation.  We built a company on the foundation of 5 simple attributes.  If you’re interested, we’d be happy to take you to lunch and learn more about the values that you hold dear.  Give us a call some time!

Meet Andrew Stone

Head of Acquisitions

Hi, I'm Andrew and I manage Revere's acquisition effort. I am excited to become a new dad in the spring and can’t wait to teach my son all about football and fishing. Being from Oklahoma, I've grown up around the oil and gas business and my family has managed royalties since before I was born. I have decades of industry experience having worked with operators and families who have held minerals for generations. In my spare time, I enjoy all-things outdoors including upland bird hunting, fly fishing, mountain biking and skiing. After a long day, I unwind by watching college football and western classics. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly with any questions. Use the chat in the bottom right, or fill out the form above. Looking forward to speaking with you soon!
